8 Hot Springs Worth the Day Trip



Our Favorite Hot Springs Near Breckenridge: (in order of proximity)

1. INDIAN HOT SPRINGS IN IDAHO SPRINGS: MINERAL WATER SWIMMING POOL, GEOTHERMAL CAVES, OUTDOOR JACUZZIS, PRIVATE INDOOR BATHS, AND MUD BATHS. 

About: Under the translucent dome lies a tropical paradise, complete with flowering plants and live Banana and Palm Trees. The swimming pool is continually fed with hot mineral water at 115°. With an average temperature of 90° to 100° our pool is a favorite with adults and children of all ages

Distance: 1 hour from Breckenridge

Price: $17 - $23

Hours: Everyday 9am - 10pm

No dogs allowed


2. MOUNT PRINCETON HOT SPRINGS: GEOTHERMAL HOT SPRING RESORT

About: Mt. Princeton offers large and small soaking pools, a geothermal creek through the resort, spa treatments and classes, lodging, juice bar, and a restaurant for all meals. 

Distance: 1.5 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $18-$22

Hours: Weekdays from 9am - 10pm, Weekends from 10am - 12am

No dogs allowed


3. COTTONWOOD HOT SPRINGS: GEOTHERMAL, GRAVITY-FED MINERAL SPAS WITH OLD WEST STYLE LODGING. 

Distance: 1.5 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $18-$20

Hours: 8am - 10pm

4. HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS RESORT & SPA: 7 NATURAL SPRINGS OF MINERAL WATER

Distance: 1.5 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $18.50

Hours: 8:00am - 10:00pm

5. RADIUM HOT SPRINGS: THIS A NATURAL HOT SPRING ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER WITH NO FACILITIES.

About: There is a steep trail which flattens out and then a climb down into the Radium Hot Spring. Although short, you have to be prepared for the climb down at the end and the climb back up. If a little bit of climbing isn’t your thing, then maybe this is one natural hot spring to avoid! Check out this guide for more information. 

Distance: 1.5 hours from Breckenridge

Price: FREE

Hours: No hours, but we highly recommend visiting while daylight

Other things to note: the spring snow melt-off could raise water levels and wash out the hot springs. Best time to visit is summer through fall. 


6. GLENWOOD HOT SPRINGS RESORT: GEO-THERMAL WATER POOL, LODGE, AND SPA. 

Distance: 1.75 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $21.50

Hours: 7:30am - 10:00pm

No dogs allowed


7. STRAWBERRY PARK HOT SPRINGS: MINERAL SPRINGS.

Distance: 2.5 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $15-20 (cash or check only)

Hours: Weekdays from 10am - 10:30pm, Weekends from 10am - 12am

8. VALLEY VIEW HOT SPRINGS: PURE AND NATURAL SPRING FED SWIMMING POOL AND SHOWERS WITH OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION.

About: this hot spring is clothing optional. Offering remote natural rock ponds, soaking ponds, and waterfall ponds. Camping and Cabin lodging are offered. 

Distance: 2.25 hours from Breckenridge

Price: $15 - $30

Hours: 9:00am - 10:00pm

Dog friendly for $5-$15 with a $50 deposit

Other things to note: daily admission is very limited - call ahead to make a reservation.
